Established in 1994, EURES is a cooperation network involving the European Commission, The European Labour Authority (ELA), The National Employment Services and other national, regional and private bodies concerned with employment. Our mission is to facilitate the free movement of workers across EU countries, as well as Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, and Switzerland.
The European Job Mobility Portal: This is your go-to resource for accessing a vast pool of talent. With over 900,000 CVs, you can use the enhanced CV search function to find the perfect jobseekers for your vacancies. Plus, you can advertise your job openings on this portal and get assistance from a local EURES advisor.
The European Online Job Days: These events are all about connecting employers with jobseekers across Europe. They're designed to mimic job fairs and recruitment drives, but online. This means you can reach out to potential candidates far beyond your local area, and even conduct interviews right from your office.
EURES Targeted Mobility Scheme: If you're looking to hire from other EU countries, this Scheme is what you need. It offers dedicated support from local employment services to help you find motivated and qualified workers. Additionally, it provides financial assistance for integration programs, making the transition smoother for both you and your new hires.
Malta joined the EURES network on the 1st of May 2004. As the Public Employment Services, Jobsplus is a EURES Member responsible for providing EURES services in Malta.
Our Services for Employers like you include:
EURES Malta is dedicated to advising and supporting employers with mobile workers. We assist with the administrative processes involved in employing an EU National, including National Insurance, engagement forms, residence cards, taxation, etc. Additionally, we provide guidance for employers interested in recruiting remote workers, making the process as straightforward as possible.
Once you have chosen an employee from the EU for your business or organisation, there are a few key steps you need to take:
Registering Your New Employee: For each new hire, you will need to fill out and submit an engagement form online through the Jobsplus website portal. If you already have an account, you can easily Sign-In and submit these forms through the Jobsplus website's employer online service.
Required Documents: The documents you need to provide depend on the employee’s nationality and status. Find out more here.
End of Employment: Don’t forget, when their time with your organisation ends, you must submit a Termination form to Jobsplus.
These steps are crucial for ensuring everything is set up correctly and legally for your new EU employee in Malta.
After the recruitment process is complete, EURES Malta continues to provide support to employers and their EU national employees. We offer recorded content and organise integration sessions for EU national employees in Malta in collaboration with employers. These sessions include useful information about:
