A bricklayer builds, repairs, and maintains walls, buildings, chimneys, and other structures using bricks, concrete blocks, and stone, ensuring strong, durable, and high-quality construction.

A skilled construction professional responsible for constructing, repairing, and maintaining buildings and other structures using bricks, concrete blocks, natural stone, and other masonry materials. They work on residential, commercial, and industrial construction projects, ensuring that all masonry work is completed according to architectural drawings, technical specifications, and safety regulations.

• Competencies

  • Prepare and clean masonry (sandblast, gum, wash...). Remove old coverings (paint, plaster of Paris...)
  • Carry out finishing or make specific decorations: sanding
  • Check and adjust stability and dimensions of manufactured products (rubbing down/sanding, levelling...)
  • Carry out finishing (painting, tiling, decorating...)
  • Carry out finishing work (decorative stitching, buttonholes, ironing, shaping,...).
  • Coordinate the different stages of execution on a construction site. Follow-up of costs and progress.
  • Clear, dig up or raise site or construction
  • Unload and store materials manually in storage areas
  • Demolish a construction by means of machine
  • Make and place formworks; pour concrete
