Responsible for providing efficient and professional customer service in a café/restaurant environment, including taking and serving orders, preparing beverages, handling payments and assisting with the smooth operation of the establishment.
The position involves providing a high standard of customer service while ensuring efficient and professional food and beverage service within a busy café/restaurant environment. Main duties and responsibilities: Welcoming customers and providing friendly and attentive service. Taking food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently. Serving food and beverages in a timely and professional manner. Preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Assisting with bar operations, including preparation, cleaning and restocking. Operating the POS system and processing customer payments. Maintaining clean, tidy and well-presented tables, service areas and bar areas. Ensuring adequate stock of beverages and service items is available. Assisting with opening and closing procedures. Maintaining good knowledge of the menu and providing customers with relevant information regarding food and beverages. Working effectively with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service. Following food safety, hygiene, health and safety and company procedures. Handling customer requests and queries in a courteous and professional manner. Maintaining a clean, organised and welcoming environment throughout the establishment. Performing other reasonable duties related to the efficient operation of the café/restaurant. Requirements: Previous experience in a waiter, bartender, café or restaurant role is considered an advantage. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Strong customer service skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Reliable, punctual and responsible approach to work. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays. Good knowledge of English; knowledge of Maltese and/or other languages is considered an advantage.
