Make steel bars / ready for concrete/ position reinforcement.
Description of duties - Build and install formwork (shuttering) to shape wet concrete for structural elements (columns, beams, walls, slabs, foundations, stairs, etc.). - Measure, cut, and assemble timber, plywood, or metal panels according to construction drawings. - Check alignment, levels, and dimensions to ensure the moulds are accurate and secure. - Apply release oil or protective coating so the concrete does not stick to the moulds. - Pour and monitor concrete placement to avoid leaks or deformation of the formwork. - Dismantle (strip) the shuttering once the concrete has set. - Maintain tools, equipment, and materials used for formwork. - Follow site safety rules and coordinate with steel fixers, masons, and site supervisors.
