Overview: The General Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a clean, hygienic, and orderly environment across two settings: a small business premises and a private household. This role requires a dependable individual who can work independently, manage time effectively, and uphold high standards of cleanliness in both professional and domestic spaces. Key Responsibilities: Routine Cleaning — Perform daily cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and surface sanitisation across business and household areas. Deep Cleaning — Carry out periodic deep‑cleaning duties such as scrubbing floors, cleaning windows, and detailed bathroom/kitchen cleaning. Waste Management — Empty bins, sort waste appropriately, and ensure proper disposal following household and business guidelines. Bathroom Maintenance — Clean and disinfect toilets, sinks, mirrors, and restock hygiene supplies. Kitchen — Clean counters, appliances, sinks, and ensure food‑related areas remain hygienic. Household Support — Assist with general household upkeep including laundry, ironing, and tidying living spaces as required. Business Premises Upkeep — Maintain reception areas, workspaces, meeting rooms, and ensure a professional environment for staff and visitors. Inventory Management — Monitor cleaning supplies and notify the employer when stock needs replenishing. Health & Safety Compliance — Follow safe cleaning practices, use products responsibly, and report any maintenance issues. Required Skills & Attributes Attention to Detail — Ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness. Time Management — Efficiently organise tasks across two environments. Reliability — Consistent attendance and trustworthy work ethic. Independence — Ability to work without supervision and take initiative. Communication — Clear communication with household members and business staff. Working Conditions Work performed across a small business premises and a private household. Flexible hours may be required depending on cleaning needs. Use of cleaning chemicals and equipment is part of daily duties. Start time 07.30am. 40 hours per week . Monday - Friday. Experience & Qualifications Previous cleaning experience in domestic or commercial settings is preferred. Knowledge of cleaning products and safe usage. Ability to lift moderate weights and perform physical tasks.
