The Audio Visual Technician shall be responsible for the setup, operation, maintenance and dismantling of audio visual equipment for events, projects and other company requirements.
The main duties and responsibilities shall include, but shall not be limited to: Setting up, operating and dismantling audio visual equipment for events, exhibitions, conferences and other projects. Installing and connecting microphones, speakers, amplifiers, mixers, projectors, LED screens, displays, lighting equipment and other AV systems. Testing all audio visual equipment before events to ensure that systems are functioning correctly and are ready for use. Operating sound, video and presentation systems during events and providing technical support throughout the event. Carrying out basic sound mixing, microphone management and audio adjustments to achieve the required sound quality. Setting up and operating video projection, LED walls, monitors, cameras and presentation systems. Connecting and configuring computers, laptops, playback devices and other equipment required for presentations and multimedia content. Running and securing cables and ensuring that all connections are properly installed and safely managed. Troubleshooting technical problems during setup, rehearsals and live events and taking appropriate corrective action. Working closely with the Event Coordinator, Project Manager, Site Coordinator and other team members to ensure that the technical requirements of each event are properly implemented. Following technical drawings, equipment lists, event plans and instructions provided by the Company or Project Manager. Loading, unloading, transporting and handling AV equipment and ensuring that equipment is stored and handled correctly. Checking equipment before and after use and reporting any faults, damage, missing items or maintenance requirements to management. Assisting with the maintenance, cleaning and general upkeep of audio visual equipment. Ensuring that all equipment is used safely and in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and Company procedures. Assisting with the installation and operation of temporary AV systems at different event venues and sites. Working at heights where required, provided that the appropriate training, PPE and safety procedures are in place. Assisting other technical teams where reasonably required in connection with event production and site operations. Maintaining a professional attitude and appearance when dealing with clients, suppliers, event organisers and other personnel. Ensuring that work areas are kept clean, organised and free from unnecessary hazards. Completing assigned tasks within the required deadlines and informing the relevant supervisor of any delays or technical difficulties. Following all Company policies and procedures, including health and safety, attendance, equipment handling and site rules. Carrying out any other reasonable duties related to the position as may be assigned by Management from time to time.
