To build, install, and remove the temporary molds (formwork) used to shape and support poured concrete until it sets.
• Interpreting Blueprints: Reading and analyzing architectural and engineering drawings to understand the exact dimensions, shapes, and structural requirements of the concrete to be poured. • Selecting and Preparing Materials: Choosing the right materials for the job—typically timber, plywood, heavy-duty plastics, or prefabricated steel and aluminum systems. • Constructing and Assembling Formwork: Cutting, shaping, and erecting the temporary molds (shuttering) for walls, columns, beams, slabs, staircases, and foundations. • Securing and Bracing: Installing tie rods, anchors, stays, and props to ensure the formwork remains perfectly level, square, and sturdy enough to withstand the immense pressure of heavy, wet concrete. • Striking (Dismantling): Carefully removing the shuttering structures once the concrete has reached the required strength, ensuring the newly formed concrete is not damaged during the process. • Maintenance and Safety: Cleaning, repairing, and preparing the reusable formwork panels for the next project while strictly adhering to on-site health and safety regulations
