Competencies
- Animal species: domestic pets
- Assess the reason and urgency of consultation. Inform client on care of animal
- Examine animal medically and determine the therapeutical needs (medication, surgery...)
- Treat the animal or do an additional examination (x rays, biopsy...)
- Treat animals in a preventive or curative way
- Inform animal carer of treatment needed (nature/risks/price...) needed or refer to specialised service (vet clinic...)
- Operate animal and observe after surgery
- Collect info on animal from accompanying person/consult medical file (erratic behaviour/case history/ongoing treatment...)
