Working in Europe

One of the fundamental rights of European Union accession is free movement of European citizens. This gives the opportunity to every European Union citizen to work and access labour market services and initiatives in any European country.

Settling in a new country and finding a new job can be complex, which is why the European Union has set up the European Employment Services (EURES) to help make this transition as seamless as possible.

EURES is a European-wide network in 31 countries, (the EU Member States together with Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Switzerland) which operates within the public employment services organisations of these countries and offers a number of services aimed at facilitating the mobility of workers.

Through Jobsplus, clients can be provided with detailed information and advice on employment opportunities in other European countries. The extensive web portal also provides individuals other required information including:

  • Online job search facility;
  • Information about living and working conditions in all 31 countries;
  • A network of over 1000 advisors all over Europe who are in daily contact with jobseekers and employers across Europe;
  • Job Fairs and Recruitment Events.

EURES Job Fairs and recruitment events are organized throughout the year and are aimed at connecting employers and jobseekers from across Europe. These are held both onsite and online. More information about these events can be accessed via this web page.
